If the tether is internally severed, we carefully disassemble the headset housing to access the internal hardware.

This is a delicate process; we meticulously disengage the fragile ribbon connectors and ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) sockets to avoid damaging the aging flex cables. Because a shorted tether can sometimes cause power surges, we perform component-level diagnostics on the primary PCB. We test the IMU sensor array and internal potentiometers to ensure no peripheral damage has occurred. If the board has taken a hit, our master technicians utilize advanced microsoldering techniques to replace blown SMD (Surface Mount Device) fuses and capacitors, or to reflow damaged BGA (Ball Grid Array) components responsible for video processing.
