Homeowner Prevention Guide
The Quest Pro's self-tracking controllers are advanced but sensitive; always wipe down the charging contacts with 90% isopropyl alcohol after a sweaty session to prevent corrosion. Keep the headset's internal sensors clean and avoid using the headset in extremely bright environments which can confuse the eye-tracking cameras.
Common Issues
Controller Charging Failure (Pin Corrosion)
Problem: The pogo pins on the controllers or the charging dock fail to make a connection, preventing charging.
Cause: Sweat or moisture buildup on the contacts after intense sessions, leading to oxidation.
Gently clean the contacts on both the controller and the dock with a Q-tip dipped in 90% isopropyl alcohol. If the pins are physically damaged, they must be replaced.
Eye/Face Tracking Failure (Sensor Error)
Problem: The headset fails to calibrate or track eye/face movements correctly.
Cause: Internal ribbon cable fatigue or sensor misalignment due to drops.
Ensure the headset is clean and updated. If hardware failure is detected, it requires a complex teardown to replace the internal sensor modules.
