First, we carefully disassemble the right sliding rail mechanism to expose the internal ribbon connectors. We inspect the primary flex cable under magnification to locate the exact point of the trace fracture, while also testing the surrounding SMD (Surface-Mount Device) components on the audio distribution board for secondary stress damage.
Because replacing the proprietary internal flex cable isn't viable—and would only result in the same design flaw failing again—we perform a robust bridge repair. Using ultra-fine gauge enameled copper wire, we bypass the severed trace entirely. We microsolder a direct, continuous bridge from the audio signal pads near the rear tracking BGA/LED array directly to the spring-loaded pogo pin contacts that interface with the right headphone. This hard-wired bypass permanently circumvents the fragile ribbon segment, restoring pristine stereo sound while retaining the full, original flexibility of the headstrap.
