Repair Warranty Information
"We stand behind our micro-soldering and our parts. Every repair is guaranteed."
The RockIT Repairs 60-Day Guarantee
We are proud to offer a comprehensive 60-Day Limited Warranty on all standard VR headset, controller, and base station repairs completed at our facility. This warranty covers both the replacement parts we installed and the direct labor provided by our technicians.
The 60-day warranty period begins on the day your repaired device shows as "Delivered" to your return address by the shipping carrier.
What is Covered under Warranty?
- Defective Parts: If an LCD panel, replacement cable, analog joystick, fan, or button we installed fails under normal use within 60 days, we will replace it free of charge.
- Workmanship: If a micro-solder joint we repaired fails, or a port we installed becomes loose under standard usage, we will re-flow and fix the connection.
- Return Shipping: If an issue covered under warranty occurs within the first 14 days of receiving your device, RockIT Repairs will cover the return shipping costs. Beyond 14 days (up to 60 days), the customer is responsible for shipping the device to us, but we will cover the cost of shipping the repaired device back to you.
What is NOT Covered? (Warranty Void Conditions)
Our warranty is strictly limited to the specific repair we performed. It does not cover subsequent damage to the device. The warranty is immediately voided under the following conditions:
- Physical Damage: Dropping the headset, violent impact to sensors, cracking the replacement screen, or snapping the controller tracking rings.
- Liquid Damage: Spilling liquids on the device, or extreme sweat/moisture corrosion occurring after the repair.
- Sunlight Damage (Burn-in): Allowing direct sunlight to enter the lenses and burn the OLED/LCD display panels after a screen replacement.
- Subsequent Tampering: Opening the device yourself, or having another third-party shop open the device after we have repaired it. Any broken tamper-evident seals will void the warranty.
- Unrelated Hardware Failures: Secondary issues. For example, if we repaired your Valve Index headset tether connection, our warranty does not cover a subsequent failure of your Knuckles controller analog sticks.
How to Initiate a Warranty Claim
If you experience an issue with your repair within the 60-day window, please contact us immediately:
- Email us at help@vrheadset.repair.
- Include your original Order/Ticket Number and Name.
- Describe the issue you are experiencing in detail, and include photos or video of the failure if possible (e.g., a short clip of stick drift happening in-game).
Our lead technician will review the claim and issue an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number and shipping instructions.
Motherboard & Liquid Damage Policy
Devices requiring deep liquid-damage multi-trace repair, or devices that arrived in a completely severe, non-functioning state due to extreme motherboard corrosion, may be exempt from the standard 60-day warranty due to the cascading, unpredictable nature of liquid damage. If your device falls into this category, you will be notified of modified warranty terms prior to the approval of the repair estimate.
