Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 1, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By sending your virtual reality headset, controllers, base stations, or any peripheral gaming equipment (collectively, the "Device") to RockIT Repairs ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before initiating a mail-in repair.

2. Service Authorization

You authorize RockIT Repairs to perform diagnostic testing and repair work on your Device. You acknowledge that we are an independent, third-party repair facility and are not affiliated with, or an authorized service provider for, Meta, Valve, HTC, Sony, Pimax, Apple, or other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Important: You acknowledge that authorizing a third-party repair on your Device may void your existing OEM warranty (if any part of your warranty is still active).

3. Diagnostics and Estimates

Once we receive your Device, we will perform a diagnostic evaluation. If the required repair differs from your initial request, or if additional damage is discovered (such as liquid damage or hidden motherboard shorts), we will contact you with a revised estimate. We will not proceed with any unauthorized repairs without your explicit consent.

4. Data Loss and Device Reset

While we take every precaution to protect your data, VR headset repairs (especially motherboard or charging circuit repairs) can result in data loss or require a factory reset. RockIT Repairs is not responsible for the loss of game saves, recorded media, accounts, or custom firmware. We strongly recommend backing up any localized data before sending your standalone headsets (e.g., Quest 3, Pico 4) in for service.

5. Abandoned Property

If we complete a repair, or a diagnostic, and attempt to contact you regarding payment or return shipping, it is your responsibility to respond. Devices left at our facility without communication or payment for a period of sixty (60) days following the issuance of the final invoice will be considered abandoned. Abandoned devices may be recycled, sold, or used for parts to cover diagnostic and storage fees.

6. Parts and Replacement

We use high-quality OEM and/or premium aftermarket parts (such as upgraded ALPS analog joysticks for VR controllers) to complete repairs. Defective parts that are replaced during the repair process become the property of RockIT Repairs and will be recycled responsibly, unless you explicitly request the return of your broken parts prior to the start of the repair.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RockIT Repairs and its employees shall not be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from the repair process, including but not limited to loss of revenue or loss of use of the Device. Our liability shall, under no circumstances, exceed the total amount you paid us for the repair service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
