Valve Index Headset & PCVR Repair Experts

RockIT Repairs is the premier independent service center for out-of-warranty Valve Index VR systems. Known for its industry-leading high-refresh-rate displays and off-ear immersive audio, the Valve Index is an elite enthusiast investment. When Valve's standard RMA warranty period ends, our specialized technicians step in to provide component-level hardware repairs, saving you from purchasing a brand new full kit via Steam. We meticulously service the headset, Knuckles controllers, and Lighthouse sensors.

Valve 'Knuckles' Controller Drift & Trigger Repair

The advanced capacitive finger-tracking 'Knuckles' controllers are highly prone to aggressive analog joystick drift and trigger snapping. When the internal spring inside the trigger mechanism snaps, or the ALPS thumbstick potentiometers degrade causing phantom movement, the controller becomes unusable. We fully disassemble the Knuckles, microsolder replacement high-durability analog sticks, rebuild the precise trigger tension spring assemblies, and ensure the delicate finger-tracking ribbon cables are completely restored.

Error 436, Sparkling Pixels & Tether Cable Replacements

If your Valve Index is displaying 'Error 436: Display Connection Trouble' in SteamVR, showing flashing 'snow' or sparkling pixels on the lenses, or dropping audio intermittently, your main trident tether cable has likely degraded. The rigid cable often breaks down internally right at the strain relief clip on the back of the head strap. We supply and install heavy-duty replacement DisplayPort/USB tether cables to permanently eliminate connection blackouts.

SteamVR Base Station 2.0 'Red Blinking Light' Fix

A solid or blinking red light on your Valve Base Station 2.0 indicates a critical internal mechanical failure—usually a stripped optical motor or a derailed laser drum assembly. Instead of buying a completely new Lighthouse tracker, our diagnostic specialists will safely open the swept-laser base station, diagnose the micro-motors, and rebuild the optical assembly to revive your precise sub-millimeter room-scale tracking setup.
